GM Active is a collaboration between 13 Greater Manchester leisure and cultural community organisations, making it possible for people across the region to access physical activity opportunities in their neighbourhood. GM Active is led by the leaders of the 13 member organisations who are featured below.

Mark Tweedie

Chief Executive, Active Tameside and Chair, GM Active

Why GM Active?: I am driven by the desire to make high quality physical activity and sports opportunities an entitlement to everyone. GM Active provides an opportunity to achieve this at scale, through collaboration.

Why GM Active?: It provides the opportunity to shape the long-term future for leisure, physical activity and wellbeing provision for the whole conurbation through collaboration.

Why GM Active?: I am passionate about the promotion and development of sport and physical activity opportunities for the residents of Salford and Greater Manchester – GM Active supports this through collaboration.

Why GM Active?: I am passionate about encouraging the residents of Bury to live active and healthy lives. GM Active is enabling mass change so all residents can Live Well.
