Wythenshawe Forum Trust

Wythenshawe Forum Centre is a community hub, making it possible to access a wide range of health and wellbeing provision on one site. The Forum was refurbished in 2003 to accommodate new services – a health centre including two GP practices and a pharmacy, and an adult learning centre.

With a spacious air conditioned gym, presentation area, dance studio, health suite, swimming and training pools, and a large sports hall – customers are well supported to achieve their fitness objectives or simply a healthier lifestyle – all under one roof.

The trust has partnerships with organisations and venues around Wythenshawe linked to health and wellbeing, maintaining initiatives such as Summersonic (now a city-wide school holiday activity programme), the annual Wythenshawe Games (Manchester’s largest community sports festival), Grand Day Out (held weekly for over 55s), and the Saturday Night Project for young people age 11-19.

The adjacent transport interchange provides efficient connections to the city centre, and the Greater Manchester Metrolink network.

Complementary community provision includes:

  • Community health services, including podiatry, dental treatment and specialist clinics
  • School holiday sport and recreational activities for children
  • Assisted facilities for disabled people
  • Sporting events, including boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, and snooker
