Healthwise is our GP Referral Scheme, designed to support a wide range of people. NHS patients can be referred for many reasons from diabetes and heart disease to depression, dementia or post-operative recovery. Rehabilitation or weight loss are just the start. As a Healthy Living Instructor, you will help us to educate people in changing their entire lifestyle.

It all begins with an assessment. People can be nervous, so you will need a patient, calm approach that puts them at ease in the gym environment. After identifying their needs, you will then demonstrate the equipment and design a bespoke programme, from simple exercises to group classes. Naturally, you will chart their progress too taking measurements, discussing how they are getting on and showing just how far they have come. Rather than short term results, your focus will be on helping people to gain the tools and confidence they need to take responsibility for their own body and health.

We are looking for an experienced Exercise Referrer inspired by the chance to make a difference and enjoy a regular wage, too. That means you will need to be registered with a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification and hold a Level 3 Exercise Referral. It would also be desirable to hold Level 2 Exercise to Music or additional fitness class qualifications.

What will my role be as an Assistant Events Manager – Operations?

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust across the events and entertainment venues. What will my role be as an Active Travel Coach – Casual?

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust. This includes using your skills and knowledge to plan and deliver high quality Active Travel Sessions for schools and community groups as part of a range of Active Travel initiatives to young people and adults of Rochdale Borough, working in a variety of venues including leisure centres, schools and community sites. Leading on the monitoring and evaluation of activities and ensuring sessions are safe and fun for all involved.

What do I need to have?

Qualified to Level 2 Community Sports Leader or from a Sport’s Governing Body
Experience of planning, developing and delivering sessions and activities to children, young people or adults
Experience of delivering sessions in both primary school and community settings
Friendly, outgoing person who likes to work with different client groups and ages
Ability to produce and deliver planned sessions according to the needs or abilities of the participants
Up-to-date knowledge of coaching methods and techniques to deliver sport and physical activity sessions
Knowledge of Safeguarding of Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
